Objective:
To join a talented software engineering team as a senior member where I can contribute six years of software design, coding, web development, database and system administration, test, and support experience, to the solution of challenging problems.
Experience:
Galasource, Inc.
Senior Software Engineer, Denver, CO, 01/05 - Present
Responsible for all technical aspects of a growing $40m e-commerce company for 35 employees.
Began as first technical employee. I received a login into a single windows box that ran all the company's systems, including the proprietary e-commerce platform, and nothing else. I made improvements to the software within days, and withing 2 months had a software development process in place, and migrated Oracle from the Windows box to to a redundant Linux architecture.
Developed new features in ColdFusion including freight integration, accounting integration (quickbooks), on company's proprietary.
By communicating openly with all the division's within the company, I was able to evaluate what processes needed the most work, and I focus my work there. Regularly I was able implement solutions that would save and employee 10 hours a week or more.
Implemented java objects to give ColdFusion a multi-threaded http request ability. With this technique the system could request an unlimited number of quotes .
Collaborated with the marketing market to devise and implement Search Engine Optimization strategies. We saw a consistent increase in natural search placement.
Managed companies PCs and responded to 'help desk' type issues
Independent Contracting
Software Engineer, Denver, CO, 5/04 – 12/04
Built a content management system for http://www.infobert.com. System allows a user to simultaneously change the content of hundreds of editorial articles at once to allow for improved targeting of ads, leading to greater ROI for customers.
Built
batch-processing tools with PHP and Perl for silonmedia.com. The
tools allowed lists of potential keywords to be valuated, cleaned
for processing, and automatically submitted to advertising
services.
Broadband Services, Inc.
Web Developer, Highlands Ranch, CO, 5/03 – 5/04
Head Web Developer for MapVantage. MapVantage was a GIS based supply chain management tool for cable companies.
Previous developer had relied exclusively on costly contractors to do the majority of web client development. Within 6 weeks, I had mastered the vendor's back end API and was able to complete the project without further contractor assistance.
Designed and implemented web front end for a J.D. Edwards installation allowing anyone to view warehouse inventory data without J.D. Edwards experience.
Designed PHP based web tool to predict monthly amounts of returning inventory to help customers lower on-hand inventory levels.
Implemented web client for MapVantage product by successfully integrating combination of PHP, Cold Fusion, Windows NT, Linux, Solaris, Oracle, MySQL and LDAP.
Rand McNally
Software Design Engineer, Englewood, CO, 4/01 – 3/02
GIS Consultant, Idea Integration, Denver, CO, 5/00 – 4/01
Software Design Engineer for RMCore, a state-of-the-art, real-time, mapping and driving directions web service. RMCore was developed on Red Hat Linux and ran on HP-UX/Solaris/RedHat. Lead engineer for geocoding and web services.
Designed and implemented extremely successful geocode service design that allowed up to 30 geocodes a second over a TCP/IP network or XML.
Designed and developed an XML web service for all of Rand McNally's mapping and driving directions services using Xerxes XML implementation.
Developed spatial algorithms for searching and retrieving map and road data in real time for mapping and geocoding services.
Geocode servers communicated with other Rand McNally servers using a Corba-like interface.
Invested considerable time in troubleshooting data and software bugs from third-party vendors, including Navtech, GDT, DMTI, and Rand McNally.
Collaborated with testing department to create test plan for geocode servers.
Maintained Bugzilla, an open-source, bug-tracking database, for RMCore.
Developed Python scripts to automate testing and deployment.
Raytheon

Software Engineer for Advanced Tactical Workstation (ATW). ATW was a real time message processing, data fusion, and target tracking software for the Navy. ATW was designed with Borland Delphi and ran on Windows NT.
Supported demonstration of ATW capabilities for the Admirals of the Pacific and Atlantic fleet a part of a month long military exercise.
Complex GUI development with Delphi on hundreds of windows including an interactive text editor.
Developed ability to display GPS satellite coverage of a cruise missile flight path using satellite telemetry.
Designed an object oriented stochastic simulator to generate fake military message traffic for system testing and demos.
Created interface with Delphi tools to an Oracle database for integration with Patriot missile program.
Ported core correlation and tracking algorithms from Delphi to C++.
